LEADAPRON is pleased to present ‘TEENAGE SMOKERS’ a limited edition portfolio of twenty-four color photographs by Ed Templeton. On view from April to May, 2009.

‘TEENAGE SMOKERS’ features Templeton’s color photographs of under-age kids from around the world smoking cigarettes. Templeton does attempt to glorify or preach the ills of the vice, but rather finds smoking a thread of commonality that links all types of kids from California to South Africa to Finland. The images show precocious children posturing with cigarettes trying to appear rebellious, defining themselves with hobbies and habits to gain social acceptance. While Templeton may question their motives he does not pass judgment and wonders with a bemused eye if smoking does indeed makes you look cooler?

The framed prints are 1500 each. Rare, Signed, and out of print books by Ed Templeton will also be available in the gallery, including the original ‘TEENAGE SMOKERS’ zine.
